Welcome to Florino Farms! We are a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting sustainable farming practices and the ethical production of wool. Founded in 2022, our mission is to empower communities through hands-on learning about sustainable agriculture and fiber arts. Situated in the heart of Florida, Florino Farms is home to a unique blend of Merino and Gulf Coast Native sheep, which we call Florinos—an homage to both their rich heritage and the land they thrive on. Through our programs, we offer educational resources on environmentally conscious farming, animal welfare, and the process of creating ethically produced yarn. Our Beloved Sheep
Florino Farms is home to our beloved sheep— a special breed we call Florinos. This unique blend of Merino and Gulf Coast Native sheep was carefully developed to combine the exceptional fiber quality of Merino with the resilience needed to thrive in Florida's warm climate. The result is a flock that produces wool with the fine, soft texture characteristic of Merino, but with the durability and adaptability that allows them to flourish under our region's hot sun and humid conditions.

Watching our flock thrive in harmony with the land reminds us daily of the beauty and importance of sustainable farming. We cherish every moment we spend with these incredible animals, who are not just livestock but truly a part of our family.
Life on our farm is a joyful blend of hard work, harmony with nature, and love for our animals. Alongside our growing Florino sheep flock, we share our days with two gentle cows, a waddling crew of cheerful ducks, two playful pot-bellied pigs, and three loyal dogs—including a protective Great Pyrenees who watches over everyone. Each February, a skilled shearer travels from Wisconsin to carefully shear our sheep, ensuring their comfort and well-being. We take pride in producing wool that is not only soft and high-quality but also ethically sourced and mulesing-free. Every day brings a rhythm of caring for our animals, tending to the land, and savoring the simple, rewarding moments of life on the farm.
